just caught up with the Ave Mujica anime, and i wanted to actually post a cover of the song i'd been working on since september of 2023, so here y'all go!

"No brand girls" cover

i just came across this cover of No brand girls from over a decade ago and i am in love. this is exactly who i aspire to be, and the cover itself is just perfection. the video is so fun and the song is such a good choice for a cover. No brand girls always makes me want to play in a rock band again and i really hope i can find a group to do it with at some point!

EPIC: The Musical

over the weekend my friend took me through the entirety of EPIC: The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, and i've been thinking about it since. it's a retelling of Homer's "Odyssey", and while i've never read it, i really enjoyed this telling of it. one thing that was interesting is that there isn't a stage production of this; the story is told entirely through music. although there are a few animatics commissioned by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, as well as many fanmade animatics. it was really interesting to see the different interpretations of each scene from animatics made by different artists. it's been a while since i felt so strongly about a story like this.

Bekhauf

finally started listening to Bloodywood and this combination of styles is so so so good i never knew i needed something like this until now, and their collab song with BABYMETAL is perfection. legitimately have no other words their music is so good.

Coldplay's MOON MUSiC

ok i've given the new album a proper listen now that the CD's come in and i can safely say now that this truly feels like a successor to Music Of The Spheres in the best way possible. first of all, this secondhand Sony Walkman has been one of my best purchases to date. listening to it again i've come to really really like this album and one song specifically that's jumped out at me has been JUPiTER. aside from feeling like the older Coldplay becoming one with the current Coldplay through the acoustic guitar and whatnot, it's also felt very like Liella! i'm not sure if this is just me getting caught up in Love Live! Superstar!! with the 3rd season having started over the weekend, but i immediately thought of Kanon singing it with the rest of Liella! when i heard it this time around. but yeah, this is a banger album.

Mitaken HORIZON arrangement for wind ensemble!

i finally finished this arrangement! not to mention exactly 5 years after the release of Mitaiken HORIZON! i was able to convince my band director to at least give it a read-through at our next rehearsal! if all goes well he agreed to program it for our concert in the spring!

NEW LINKIN PARK

i'm so glad i tuned into the livestream earlier today!!! Linkin Park is back with Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain on drums, along with Mike, Brad, Joe, and Phoenix. coming back from zero, they have a new album set to release in November, aptly named "From Zero". they unveiled the first single, "The Emptiness Machine" during the livestream, and while it's gonna take a bit to think of this as the new Linkin Park, i immediately fell in love with the song. i'm so excited for the album. not to mention less than a week i saw twenty one pilots, they also confirmed that they'd be touring for this new album. that's both of my teenage favorite bands that i'll be able to see live within a year of each other. we are so back. we are so so so back.

almost finished Mitaiken HORIZON band arrangement!

i've been working on this shortened arrangement of Mitaiken HORIZON by Aqours, and i'm hoping to eventually play it with the wind band i'm part of at college! here's what i have currently but it's definitely going to change by the time it is ready to perform:

"Haruhikage" orchestral arrangement

back when the "It's MyGO!!!!!" anime was airing in 2023, i was enchanted by this beautiful piece and decided that i needed to arrange it for symphony orchestra. all that's left at this point is to make the score look pretty, so i wanted to show you all the audio mockup! enjoy!
